Now very good time to get a new TV. We’ve tested all the latest and most popular models all year, but we’re starting to see the first discounts on our flagship 2021 models. Even if you’re looking at college football every Saturday, the start of HBO’s new season Compliance, or play your new one Nintendo Switch OLED on the big screen, here are some awesome discounts to upgrade your home viewing experience.
Special offer for Gear readers: Get a 1 year subscription to NAGLINGKIT at a cost of $ 5 ($ 25 discount). This includes unlimited access to NAGLINGKIT.com and our print magazine (if you prefer). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.
This is the sweet spot for most TV buyers, where you can find good technology and great interfaces at a small price.
The TCL 6-Series (9/10, WIRED RECOMMENDATIONS) is our favorite TV for most people for many years in a row, and this excellent 2020 model is still what we want to go for. It has mini LED backlighting for better black levels and a more usable Android TV interface, making everything from downloading apps to dropping from your phone a wind. This deal will also apply at Walmart.
If you want something a bit more than the TCL in height, this model from Samsung is a solid choice. I want it to have Alexa onboard, so you can set timers and query it on time. (You can turn off Alexa if you don’t want to use it.)
The 5-Series is the best TV under $ 500. You get a quantum dot display, an Android TV interface, and Alexa compatibility. Plus, the included remote voice makes it easy to find your favorite content.
Looking for a multi-screen to watch your favorite teams or TV shows? These two are good options.
The quantum dot technology inside this 75-inch Samsung makes it bright and vibrant, perfect for even more windows-filled living rooms. I also like the center pedestal stand, which allows the TV giant to fit the standard sizes of TV consoles.
Sony is another one that makes good TVs, and it’s a companion Android TV built-in, plus similar to Alexa for quick search. It also has Sony’s awesome MotionFlow XR technology, which helps clear up speeds like players and balls when watching a sport, and all the onscreen action when playing.
After a longest upgrade? Here are the best deals on some of the most beautiful TVs on the market.
It’s Samsung’s flagship 4K, and it’s an surprisingly beautiful TV (8/10, Recommended WIRED). The Mini LED backlighting combines the quantum dot company’s Neo QLED technology to make it the best screen we’ve seen in bright rooms (and one of the best we’ve seen in the dark).
If you have a dark spot to watch it (or in any room, really), the C1 is the best TV I’ve seen this year (8/10, Recommended WIRED). It’s also amazing for gamers, thanks to HDMI 2.1 inputs and a 120-Hz refresh rate delivers smoother onscreen movement.
