8 Best Cheap Laptops (2021): Our Choices at $ 700 or Less
If your budget is tight and you want the most bang for your buck, or you just want to keep something out of the landfill, the used or refurbished laptop market is worth considering. I am happy to be able to buy laptop accessories on eBay from all different sellers (both pros and regular people).
To get the best deal, make sure you know the market. Do some research to find a machine that fits your needs. The easiest to reach, and therefore (usually) the best deal, attend with the most boring, models that are for business. I think ThinkPads, which are used by – and then all thrown away – are big corporations, which means there are a lot of options, and they’re cheap.
Aim for these specs: Try getting a laptop with at least a ninth-generation Intel Core i3 processor, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage (preferably a solid-state drive), and at least a 13-inch display. almost in HD.
Find laptop accessories on eBay: If you already know what you want, find it on eBay. Scroll down and check the option to show only “sold lists.” Now take the 10 most recently sold, add the prices, and divide by 10. That’s the average price; don’t pay more than that.
Remember the poorest price – that’s the most expensive price. Now, remove the Sold List option. See what is between the lowest price and that average price. Those are the deals you can consider. I suggest looking at a few. Don’t bid or participate at all. Just look at them to the end and see how high the end of the auctions is.
Once you have a feel for the market and what you have to pay, you’ll know if you’ve found a deal. If you have already found it, wait. Do not bid until the last minutes of the auction. You don’t want other bidders to have a chance to react. Remember that if you miss something, it’s not the end of the world. There is always a new one listed on eBay.
