How to change iPhone phones, Apple, and more
True story. In the past, mobile phones … phones.
You use them to make phone calls. Maybe send some texts, if you are an advanced class.
The iPhone changes everything. And it changes even more the way we use phones: It changes Apple, and it changes the culture, and it takes down industries and creates something new.
And everything that happens is really fast: Steve Jobs has introduced the iPhone for the past 14 years. But it is almost impossible to imagine what life was like then.
So that’s where our latest season started Land of the Giants, our podcast series focusing on the largest and most influential tech companies of our time. If you want to tell the Apple story, you start with the most important thing Apple has ever done.
In our first episode, we spoke to high-ranking Apple executives who have been overseeing the iPhone project from the very beginning, as well as Apple staff who don’t know exactly how to do it.
But the iPhone isn’t just a breakthrough in consumer electronics. It’s a device that makes the world, and we want to explain how it happens. And, more importantly, what it means to live, today, in a world where iPhones – and the phones of its competitors – are not good to have, but necessities.
It’s worth thinking of as Apple, Facebook, and any other tech giants work on a class of augmented / virtual reality headwear that each of them expects. succession iPhone. How do we want the story to play out at this time?
As in other times Land of the Giants – We’ve said Amazon, Netflix, and Google before – we want to take you inside Apple and inside the thinking of the leaders who shaped it. And we also want to examine the power that Apple has accumulated because it has changed the world, and the real-time battles that regulators and critics are fighting to hang on to that power.
That’s a great story to tell, and one that is fun, and one that is inspiring. We ask that you enjoy it. The first stage of Land of the Giants: The Apple Revolution already on the outside. New episodes fall on Wednesday. Feel free to listen to it on your iPhone, or any other device of your choice.
